John Calvin (1509-1564). He wrote the Institutes of the Christian Religion (1536) and is the name sake of the theology coming out of the Protestant reformation, i.e, Calvinism. Calvinism of God and Salvation by Grace alone through faith alone.

This fine art print of the original oil portrait of John Calvin by Mike Mahon was commissioned for the cover of the “Confessional Presbyterian” celebrating the 450th anniversery of John Calvin’s birth. It is hanging along with other Mike Mahon original paintings of Reformation theologians and ministers in the board room of Greenville Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, South Carolina.
