Mike is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA), Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM), and American Plains Artists (APA). has received many awards and honors for his paintings around the country.

Mike has added new teaching techniques to more effectively help you improve. CLICK HERE to see a short movie, which is just a small sample of the  new material developed for 2010.  The new material will be presented "live" in the workshops.

This year Mike introduces a new heavily illustrated PowerPoint presentation to help make his teaching more effective and memorable. Everyone learns in different ways, so the lessons will also include more demonstrations, teacher/student paint-alongs, and some new concepts that Mike has developed during his many years of teaching.

Developed from classical painting methods, his procedure has its own unique twist that gives his work that extra "punch" for which he's known.

Mike teaches the painter how to be sure that the painting will succeed from the beginning!

Mike's demonstration paintings will be in pastel and oil; but the classic principles of design apply to any medium.
These workshops are suitable for beginner and experienced artists alike, because everyone will learn the new and unique skills needed to improve their work, no matter their level.
